Heikki Paaer – Finnish Illustrator

Heikki Paaer was born in 1925. His father, Germund Paaer (1881-1950) was a well-known Finnish artist. The son apparently inherited artistic talents from the father. Heikki Paaer illustrated at least eleven Finnish books from 1947 to 1974. Both he and his father also designed heraldic crests for several Finnish municipalities. In “Me Kalahullut” by Gerald V. Kuss, quite a number of Heikki’s line drawings humorously comment on the serious subject of fishing.
